The registration fee and application form for Kantipur Half Marathon is free of cost.

Please visit our website: kantipur-marathon.kmg.com.np and download registration forms from “Register” section.

The applicants for Half Marathon, Corporate and Wheelchair race should download the application form from the interested categories mentioned in the website, print the form and submit the filled up form at Kantipur Publications Ltd. central office located at Central Business Park, Thapathali, Kathmandu.

Currently, we don’t accept online submission of registration forms. The participants are required to register by submitting their filled up forms at Kantipur Publications Pvt. Ltd. central office located at Central Business Park, Thapathali, Kathmandu.

Marathon runners of all three categories must be minimum 18 years old on race day. In order to be eligible in registration process, the participants must bring a copy of Nepali citizenship certificate along with one passport size photo of the participant while submitting the application form. The runners in the corporate run should be working in officer’s level or above and also bring along with them the letter of participation from the organization they are working with.

Bib numbers are a tool for race directors to distinguish thousands of runners apart and to simplify the seemingly impossible task of getting a time for each and every one of these runners. Made of Tyvek (a durable, plastic-like paper product) or cloth, bib numbers are designed to pin or stick onto a t-shirt or racing vest and withstand sweat, rain and tears while moving with the competitor’s’ body.

The Kantipur Half Marathon, Corporate-Media Race and Wheelchair race will start from Central Business Park, Thapathali at Kantipur publication’s central office and finish at the same spot.

The Kantipur Half Marathon 2019 will start from Kantipur Publication central office in Central Business Park, Thapathali towards Maitighar, Babarmahal , Bijulibazar Bridge, Tinkune, Koteshor, Jadibuti, Ghattha Ghar, Sano Thimi, Bhaktapur Sallaghari Chowk (150m ahead way to Katunje, turning point) towards finished at Central business park, Thapathali.

The corporate & media run is of total 5 km and will start from Kantipur Publication central office in Central Business Park, Thapathali heading towards Maitighar, Babarmahal , Bijulibazar Bridge, New Baneshwor, Civil Hospital Gate towards finished at Central business park, Thapathali.

The Wheelchair race is will start from Kantipur Publication central office in Central Business Park, Thapathali heading towards Maitighar, Babarmahal , Bijulibazar Bridge (50m ahead sign board of “KOHER” towards finished at Central business park, Thapathali.

The application submission desk will be open from 9th Jestha, 2079 to 17th Jestha, 2079 (corresponding with 23rd May, 2022 to 31st May, 2022) during office hours. The deadline for Kantipur Marathon 2076 registration is 17th Jestha, 2079 (31st May, 2022).

Yes. The time limitation for half marathon is of two hours. The runners in the Kantipur half marathon are required to run through the entire specified route within two hours.

You can park your vehicles at Trade Tower, Thapathali; Shikhar Insurance, Thapathali and Blue Bird Mall, Thapathali

You will be disqualified if you:

- behave unsportsmanlike or disrespect the official regulations

- use any means that is not allowed, e. g. you are accompanied by bike

- fold, shorten or put something over your race number

- disregard the marked route

Half Marathon - 21.1 km

Corporate-Media Race - 5 km

Wheelchair Race - 3 km

Yes. The participants will be provided with refreshments before and after the race.
The participants not being able to finish the marathon within the time limit will not receive any certificate of appreciation.
We will be providing health camp and medical facilities inside the Kantipur Publication head office premises located at Thapathali.
Please note that the route is not closed off for traffic. Although traffic is not heavy during Saturday mornings, the participants are to take care while running on main roads and look out for vehicles.

The runners in the corporate run should be working in officer’s level or above and also bring along with them the letter of participation from the organization they are working with mentioning their position.

After successfully registering, you will be provided with a BIB number which is of vital importance for the marathon day.

After registering successfully, every participant will receive a bib number which will represent their participation in the marathon. The participants will receive two printed A4 size bib numbers after submitting the registration form. One bib must be attached to the front of your body and another one is for your back.

The finishers of Kantipur half marathon within the time duration of two hours will receive certificate of completion. All the finishers of wheelchair race and corporate-media run will receive certificate of completion. All three category winners will also receive attractive cash prizes. The results will be published and winners will be awarded on the same day of the Kantipur half-marathon day.

Yes. We will have drinking water and sponge bath facilities to all the participants running within the route of Kantipur-half marathon.

Yes, we have both of the facilities for the participants. It is possible to deposit bags with personal items for use before the race. Luggage can be stored in the designated luggage area at the Central Business Park, Thapathali inside Kantipur Publication central office itself. Please mark your bag clearly with your name and bib number. To avoid unnecessary queuing on the morning of race day, please mark your luggage before entering inside Kantipur Publication central office. Although the luggage area is manned, depositing personal belongings in the area is entirely each runner’s responsibility. The Kantipur Marathon organizers are not responsible for any loss or damage of personal belongings.

Kilometer signs are placed at each kilometer along the route. The directions are placed along the route to ensure the runners are heading towards the right direction. The signs will also indicate the distance the participants have accomplished.

Yes. All the photos of marathon will be published in our official website. The participants can download the photos from the website.

In such cases, participants are required to call our toll free number and inform the representatives from Kanitpur Half Marathon 2019.

The participants not being able to compete due to injuries will be provided with health assistance. The participants with serious injuries will be immediately carried to hospital in the ambulance.
